The poor people (in social and economic terms) will be able to live in a harmonious environment, where people from all sections of society contribute in the society’s development. This will lead their own initiatives of development in rural and urban areas in a sustainable way.
To motivate the community and grass root level NGO’S, CBO’S and PRI’s for their area development through their own participation and to develop their capacity from different kinds of levels to enable them to play a more sustainable and effective role in all sector of socio-economic development in the service of poor and deprived communities.
MPSSM was established by Mr. Pramod Zinjade, the present president of the organization, 28 years back (in 1982) to work towards the causes of humankind. It is operating in 17 districts and 24 blocks of Maharashtra. Over the period of time, the organization has grown and presently the main thrust is on area development programmes for the deprived sections of society. In the initial period, MPSSM worked on organizing Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS). It also worked towards educating organized labourers about their lawful rights. Currently, it is working in 17 districts of Maharashtra on areas like NREGS, Livelihood Activities, WASH, Village Libraries, Migration, Education of migrant children, advocacy with government and relief and rehabilitation works during natural disasters. It also focuses on thematic areas of gender and governance.
